Every child is entitled to the hope of a better future.

the hope chest

The Hope Chest clothes closets are located in the Public Defender's Office in Clearwater, New Port Richey and Dade City, Florida. The clothes closets serve abused, neglected or abandonded youth, ages twelve to eighteen, who are part of the Public Defender's Crossover Program or are under the jurisdiction of the Guardian ad Litem's office. Many of these young people are taken from their homes or other abusive environments with only the clothes on their backs. The Hope Chest is there for them, providing the basic necessities, such as personal hygiene items, shoes, clothing, undergarments, pajamas, bedding, books and bus passes which help to make their lives more functional.
